“I learnt a lot about myself, where I want to be heading, my future goals, even a general timeline for my work life.”

“The amazing architecture and brilliant technology combined with the Japanese culture was instantly captivating.”

I was nearing the end of my university studies and had ample time during the holidays with no obligations to attend to. Due to this fact I decided it was time to get some serious and professional working experience.

“The Internship was an amazing one”

I had a fantastic time there and due to the great people and culture there I was able to fit in quite easily. My official daily work schedule started at 9am and finished at 6pm.

“I was able to go to many lunches and listen to many people give me advice on my future.”

My work consisted of general internship work, such as printing and sending out mail, extensive data maintenance and tabulation as well as working on a research project for the company’s expansion into the Asia Pacific region. My mentor was great. I truly believe that she had really made my entire experience as easy as she could. The people at work were also very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my time meeting new people there.

“Working culture is hard, but to learn to work there makes me think I can work anywhere.”

I learnt that working in Japan is demanding, but the convenience of Japan really makes living there worth it. I believe that many people living there may take this convenience for granted. For those who enjoy and appreciate the little things in life, Japan really is a great place. I learnt a lot about myself, where I want to be heading, my future goals, even a general timeline for my work life.

“My experience in Japan will allow me to show that I have a multicultural background and in the future may allow me to work in Japan.”

I wish to use this experience to help me with my future graduate opportunities, both the internships experiences and using references to further show employers my capabilities at work.

I wish to use this experience to help me with my future graduate opportunities, both the internships experiences and using references to further show employers my capabilities at work.

My goals were to learn Japanese business culture, gain exposure to corporate culture, and learn how to live independently in Japan. I have accomplished all of these and am very happy with the outcome.

“However my ability to use business Japanese I believe has improved and this has given me confidence.”

My language ability was basically native, so development of the language was not part of my goal.

“The most important thin is to develop yourself.”

I think each person has their way of doing things, and that’s what makes the Internship in Japan so personal to you. The most important thing is to develop yourself, so others should just learn from their accomplishments and mistakes.
