4. What is included in the fees?

Please refer to our programs page for the details on what our services include: http://www.japaninternships.com/program/

5. Are the internships paid?

We guarantee you an unpaid internship.
However, several host companies are offering great perks to their interns such as a refund of the meals, transportation pass, etc. It is decided by the host company on a case-by-case basis and ICC has no control over this.

6. Why do I have to pay for an internship?

You are not paying for an internship.
You are investing in your future and hiring us to provide you with multiple services.
If you choose to hire us to find you an internship, you will save yourself time and efforts. While we do the hard work and spend countless hours securing your internship, you can relax and sit back or focus on your studies. Asking ICC to find you an internship is the guarantee of getting an internship and a great placement.
We also save you time and money by finding you a great housing solution and train you so that you are ready for the working environment in Japan and can avoid any culture shock while you are here.
We provide you with insurance and a 24/7 emergency support, which means we work 24/7 for you.
In addition to all of this, we also organize international parties with other participants of the program and the Japanese students we send on internships abroad, so you also get access to free social activities!
The fact that we are here as your agent also assures host companies, as they know both you and them can count on us if necessary.

7. How can I pay your fees?

You can pay us by PayPal or international bank transfer.

8. What if I cancel? Can I get refunded?

Please refer to our refund policy below:

9. What does the insurance cover?

Your insurance will cover your medical expenses and personal liability during the duration of the internship. Please contact us for more information on this particular point.

10. I only speak English, is that a problem?

No problem at all!
We have many companies where only English is necessary.

11. When should I apply?

Anytime is OK.
Ideally, we ask of you to give us at least 2 to 3 months before your expected starting date. We will advise you during our Skype counselling about the best time for you to apply.

12. Will I be alone? How can I make friends?

We organize an orientation session in our office before you begin your internship with all the interns starting at the same time as you.
We also organize international parties with other participants of the program and the Japanese students we send on internships abroad, field trips etc.! If you choose to stay at a share-house, it will be a great opportunity to make new friends as well.

13. I do not know anything about Japan, how do I find a place to stay?

We will help you find an accommodation before you start your internship, do not worry!
Most of our participants choose a share-house, which is conveniently located to access their internship location. We can also help you to find a monthly apartment or homestay.

14. What if you cannot guarantee an internship I want?

To avoid this situation, we will talk with you first on Skype so that we can make sure we have opportunities you will like and learn from. If we do not feel confident in our ability to place you for sure, we will tell it clearly to you. Sometimes, for reasons beyond our control, your placement might take longer than expected but we will not give up and continue until you are placed in a great internship.

15. Will I get homesick or get a culture shock?

Japan is a country where the language and culture is totally different. For some people it might be hard to adjust to a new, overwhelming environment right away. We are here to support you and you can always come see us in our office or call us if you need to talk to someone.

16. Are all internship positions in Tokyo?

Most of the companies are in Tokyo. We have however options in Osaka, Kyoto and other locations in Japan.

17. What happens if I need to postpone my internship?

If we did not find a company for you yet, a delay is possible. However, if you are already placed, it will depend on the company to decide if you can start later or not. In both cases we will try to find a solution that suits you best.

18. Can I come with a friend and have an internship in the same company with him/her?

We will do our best to find a company that can accept you both, but we cannot guarantee it. However, we can guarantee an internship to both of you.
